Pietrasanta honors Botero

Posted 09 July 12

Fernando Botero is celebrating his 80th birthday with an exhibition in the renown sculpture centre and charming town of Pietrasanta, honouring the great creative relationship between the artist and the town that started back in the Seventies.

The exhibition titled "Fernando Botero: Painter and Sculptor" inagurated on Saturday July 5th and will be on view until September 2nd, it unfolds across the town center, six giant bronzes are on display in Piazza del Duomo, whilst other smaller sculptures alongside a series of watercolour works on canvas and a series of drawings (some of which have never been shown before) will be in Sant'Agostino church and cloister.

After visiting the show don't miss dinner in one of the many little restaurants Pietrasanta offers, my favourite are Enoteca Marcucci and Filippo, and after dinner shopping is also a must!
